Directions

Preparing the Bread and Cooking the Egg
1. Using a round or shaped cookie cutter or the rim of a glass, cut a hole in the center of one bread slice. Set aside.
2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter (or cooking oil or mayo) to the bread slices.
3. Place the bread slices in the skillet and cook for a few minutes until the bottom side is lightly toasted.
4. Flip the bread slices and crack an egg into the hole. Sprinkle the eggs with salt and pepper.
5. Cook for a few more minutes until the egg whites are set, but the yolks are still slightly runny. If desired, cover the skillet with a lid to help cook the eggs evenly.
6. Once the eggs are cooked to your liking, sprinkle cheese over the bread and eggs. Cover the skillet and let the cheese melt.
Preparing the Sausage and Assembling the Sandwich
1. In the meantime, heat the cooked breakfast sausages in a separate skillet or microwave.
2. Add the sausage to the bread and put the bread together to create a sandwich.
