Strawberry Shortcake Rice Cereal Treats Recipe (with Video)

For the cereal treats
1. Melt the butter, stirring often, over low heat until browned.
2. Remove 2 tablespoons and set aside.
3. Add 1 1/2 bags marshmallows to the remaining butter in the pot and stir until melted through.
4. Stir in cereal until evenly combined.
5. Add the remaining mini marshmallows and half of the crushed up freeze dried strawberries.
6. Quickly pour out into a greased 9x13 baking pan and press down firmly into an even layer.
For the frosting
1. Beat together powdered sugar, reserved 2 tablespoons browned butter, salt, vanilla and milk until smooth and somewhat thick.
2. If it’s too thick, you can thin out slightly by adding a splash more milk.
3. Pour over the rice cereal treats and spread out evenly.
4. Sprinkle the top completely with the strawberry topping and allow to set.
5. Slice, serve and enjoy.
