Main Ingredients
- Rice
- NY Strip Steak
- salt and pepper
- 2 clove Garlic
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 0.5 Onion
Sauce
- 0.25 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp rice cooking wine
- 1 tbsp Mirin
Toppings
- fried shallots
- fried garlic chips
- Scallions
- Fly By Jing Zhong Sauce
- cured egg yolk

Directions

Prep work
1. Wash and cook your rice.
2. Cut onion and scallions for later.
3. Peel and crush garlic.
4. Combine sauce ingredients and set aside.
Prepare and cook the steak
1. Pat down steak with paper towel to remove moisture.
2. Season on both sides with salt and pepper.
3. Add oil to the pan (cast iron preferred) and cook steak on both sides for 4 min on medium high heat.
4. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, add butter and garlic cloves.
5. Baste the steak.
Rest and cut the steak
1. Let the steak sit for at least 5-10 min before you start cutting.
2. Cut into 1/2 inch pieces.
Prepare the sauce and onions
1. Drain excess oil and add in sauce.
2. Let onions caramelize in the sauce.
3. Remove onions and let the sauce get thick.
Assemble the dish
1. Assemble with egg yolk, scallions, fried shallots, garlic chips, leftover sauce, and Fly By Jing Zhong Sauce.
