Ingredients

You'll Need
- 2 c Flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 0.5 c shortening
- 0.5 c cold water
- 2 apples
- 0.25 c White sugar, or brown sugar
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- Oil, for frying
- 1 c Powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Directions

Preparing the Dough
1. Sift together your flour and salt.
2. Add in your shortening and using a fork or pastry cutter cut the shortening in until you have pea size balls.
3. Then mix in your water and knead your dough.
4. Shape into a ball then wrap up and place in fridge for 30 minutes minimum up to 24 hours.
Preparing the Apple Filling
1. Add apples, sugar and cinnamon to a pot, bring to a simmer and let simmer for 10 minutes then remove from heat.
Assembling and Frying the Pies
1. Take your dough we made earlier and break it into 6 even pieces, roll them out and fill with apple filling.
2. Fold the dough over and use a fork to seal the edges.
3. Make sure they’re sealed well so they don’t fall apart when frying.
4. Get oil to 350 degrees and fry 2 at a time making sure not to over crowd the pan.
5. 2 minutes on each side then remove from heat.
Preparing the Icing
1. For your icing just mix 1 cup of powdered sugar and 2 tbsp of milk and 1 tsp of vanilla extract together in a mixer until smooth.
2. Top apple pies with it and enjoy.
