Ingredients

Spices
- 3 Cinnamon sticks, Whole
- 3 Star anise, Whole
- 10 Cloves, Whole
- 0.25 tbsp Allspice, Whole
- 0.25 tsp Ground nutmeg
- 0.5 tbsp Fresh ginger
Coquito
- 1 can Coconut milk, 13 oz
- 2 cans evaporated coconut milk
- 1 can cream of coconut
- 1 can condensed coconut milk
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 1 c rum

Directions

1. Add all of the ingredients (except the rum) in a large saucepan. Warm over medium-high heat until it begins to simmer.
2. Remove from heat, add rum (if using) cover and allow the coquito to become infused with the spices for 30 minutes.
3. Strain the coquito and pour into a glass airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 6 weeks.
4. The coquito will thicken over time. Shake vigorously before serving.
5. Serve coquito in a glass rimmed with coconut flakes, a cinnamon stick and a sprinkle of nutmeg or cinnamon on top. Enjoy!
