Ingredients

Chicken
- 1 lb Chicken thighs, boneless, cut into bite sizes
- 1 tbsp Garlic, grated
- 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp Light soy sauce
- 0.25 tsp white pepper powder
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper powder
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 1 Egg
- 0.25 c Cornstarch
- 0.25 c mochiko
- 4 c Vegetable oil
Toppings
- furikake
- toasted sesame seeds
- shichimi togarashi
- Scallions

Directions

Preparing the Chicken and Marinade
1. In a mixing bowl, add garlic, ginger, sake, soy sauce, white pepper, cayenne pepper, salt, egg, cornstarch, and mochiko.
2. Mix well until no loose flour is visible, then add the chicken and mix again.
3. Cover and let it marinate in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Frying the Chicken
1. Add oil to a pot and heat it to 350F.
2. Carefully add the marinated chicken and fry it for 3 minutes until they turn golden brown.
3. Transfer the chicken onto a cooling rack and bring the oil temperature back to 350 F.
4. Add the chicken back and fry for an additional 1 minute to make them extra crispy.
Serving the Dish
1. Top with furikake, sesame seeds, seven spice, scallions, and serve with rice.
