Directions

Preparation of Chicken
1. Heat your oven to 375° f.
2. Take your chicken thighs, and trim down any extra fat or skin. I like to use kitchen shears or a paring knife for this step.
3. Place your chicken in a bowl and add garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasonings, and kosher salt. Mix well.
4. Heat your cast iron skillet or any deep skillet to medium- high heat. Once your skillet is hot add two teaspoons of butter and four rounds of olive oil.
5. Once your butter is melted down and bubbling, add your chicken thighs to the skillet skin side down.
6. Once your chicken is golden brown and crispy on the skin, and it is easy to flip and doesn't stick to the skillet, it's time to turn it over.
7. Repeat this step on the other side.
8. Once your chicken is golden on both sides. Move your cast iron skillet into the oven while you make the honey brown sauce.
Making the Honey Brown Sauce
1. In a small saucepan turn to medium-high heat add 2 tablespoons of butter, honey, brown sugar, hot sauce, and lemon juice. Stir your sauce until your sugar has melted down. And it starts to bubble. This step takes about 3-5 minutes.
2. Once your glaze is finished, remove your chicken from the oven. Pour your glaze all over the top of your chicken. Use a basting brush to spread the glaze evenly over your chicken.
3. Once your chicken is glazed, place your chicken back into the oven for 10 to 15 minutes. This will allow time for that glaze to stick to the skin. Once the internal temperature has reached 165° f, remove your chicken and get ready to serve!
