Ingredients

- 0.5 c Unsalted butter, softened
- 1 c Granulated sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 2 Large eggs, room temperature
- 1 c all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 6 purple plums
- 2 tbsp Turbinado sugar
- large pinch Ground cinnamon
- whipped cream, for serving

Directions

Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Grease a 10-inch round cake pan or springform pan with cooking spray, set aside.
Creaming the butter and sugar
1. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
2. Beat in the vanilla and eggs.
3. Stir in the flour, baking powder, salt and a pinch of cinnamon.
4. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and spread out into an even layer.
5. Place the plum halves skin side up on top of the batter pretty close to one another.
6. Sprinkle with the sugar and some cinnamon.
Baking
1. Bake until golden brown and the center has just set, about 45 minutes.
2. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan.
Final Step
1. Slice and serve with a dollop of whipped cream.
2. Enjoy!
