Cake Ingredients
- 4.5 cups Flour
- 0.5 cup Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 2 tbsp Vanilla extract
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 1 cup Oil
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 2.333 cups Sugar
- 6 Large eggs, room temperature
- 3 cups Buttermilk
- 2 sticks Unsalted butter, room temperature
Vanilla Buttercream Frosting Ingredients
- 5 sticks Unsalted butter, room temperature
- 5 cups Powdered sugar
- 1.5 tbsp Vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp heavy whipping cream
- pink food coloring
- violet food coloring

Directions

Preparation of the Cake
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a bowl combine all the dry ingredients.
3. Turn on the mixer and add all the wet ingredients.
4. Mix until completely mixed.
5. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet.
6. Don’t over mix the batter.
7. Now separate it into cake pans and bake it for 50 minutes.
8. Let it cool.
Preparation of the Frosting
1. If you are using an electric mixer then whip up your frosting with paddle attachment for 10 minutes (scraping in between).
Icing the Cake
1. Once you are ready to ice your cake, it is important to add a crumb coat so don’t skip that step.
2. Place your cake in the fridge for 30 minutes so the crumb coat gets hard before icing it.
3. Now comes the fun part. Adding the frosting.
4. I went for the ombré effect but you can frost your cake however you want.
