- 0.5 c Butter
- 0.5 c dark brown sugar, packed
- 24 saltine crackers
- 4 oz chocolate bar
- 0.25 c peanuts

Directions

Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Line a 9x12 baking dish with parchment paper and spread the crackers in a single layer on the prepared dish.
Creating the Toffee
1. In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the butter and brown sugar.
2. Bring to a rolling boil, then reduce the heat to medium and continue to boil until the mixture thickens, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes.
3. Carefully pour the sugar butter mixture over the crackers and spread to cover.
4. Bake, until the mixture forms a toffee, about 5 minutes.
Adding the Toppings
1. Immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top in order to allow the heat from the dish to slowly melt the chocolate.
2. Spread the chocolate evenly over the toffee.
3. Then sprinkle the chopped peanuts on top, if desired.
