- 3 Carrots, as straight as possible
- water, as needed
Marinade
- 2 tbsp Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Maple syrup
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- 1 tbsp Rice vinegar
- 2 tsp smoky spice blend
Serving
- 3 hot dog buns
- 1 c sauerkraut
- 3 tbsp German mustard
- 3 tbsp Ketchup
- 0.5 c pickled cucumber

Directions

To prepare the carrots
1. Peel them and use a peeler to shave them into a straight shape.
2. Use the scraps to make a tasty carrot salad.
3. Whisk all of the marinade ingredients together and heat a pan.
4. Add the marinade and carrots to the pan, then close with a lid and let them steam and roast for about 20 minutes until the carrots are soft.
5. Keep an eye on the carrots, and add water as needed if the liquid has evaporated.
To assemble the hot dogs
1. Use a classic hot dog bun and stuff it with pickled cucumber, homemade sauerkraut, the carrot hot dogs, and German mustard and ketchup.
