Caramel Sauce
- 2 c Cane sugar
- 0.667 c water
- 0.75 c heavy whipping cream
- 4 tbsp Unsalted butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 0.125 tsp Salt

Directions

Making the Caramel Sauce
1. In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the sugar and water over medium heat.
2. Do not stir, instead swirl the pan gently to ensure even heating to prevent crystallization.
3. Bring to a boil: It will start to change color from clear to golden and then to amber. This process may take about 10-15 minutes.
4. You can adjust the heat if necessary to prevent burning.
5. Once the caramel reaches a deep amber color, remove the pan from the heat.
6. Carefully pour the heavy cream, be careful as the mixture will bubble up.
7. Next, add butter and whisk until completely melted and combined.
8. Stir in the vanilla extract and the salt.
9. Mix until everything is incorporated evenly.
10. Let the caramel sauce cool for at least 30 minutes in the pan.
11. Then, pour it into a heatproof jar or container.
12. Allow it to cool to room temperature before sealing the container.
13. It will thicken as it cools.
14. Keep refrigerated for up to 2-3 weeks.
