- 2 Star anise
- 2 c chicken stock or water
- 0.75 c Light soy sauce
- 0.25 c Shaoxing rice wine
- 3 tbsp Dark soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Brown sugar
Sauce
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- 2 tbsp water
- Reserved stock
