Ingredients

- 1 lb Italian Sausage
- 0.75 lb Ground beef
- 1 box ziti or penne noodles
- 1 Green bell pepper, diced
- 1 Red bell pepper, diced
- 1 Onion, diced
- 0.25 c Mushrooms, diced
- 4 clove Garlic, minced
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Italian seasoning
- 15 oz Ricotta cheese
- 2 Eggs
- 0.25 c Parmesan cheese
- 3 c Mozzarella cheese
- 14 oz diced tomatoes
- 32 oz pasta sauce or marinara

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350.
2. Add about a tablespoon of olive oil to a pot and sauté your diced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms for about 5 minutes.
3. Then add in the garlic and cook for about a minute until fragrant.
4. In the same pot, brown the Italian sausage and ground beef.
5. Season it with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
6. Boil the ziti noodles in salted water per package instructions.
7. Drain the excess grease from the meat.
8. Then pour in diced tomatoes and the pasta sauce.
9. Season to taste with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic, and onion powder.
10. You can add a little sugar to cut the acidity of the sauce if you want.
11. In a large bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, eggs, parsley, Parmesan, and mozzarella cheese.
12. Mix in the ziti noodles then about 1 1/2 cup for the sauce.
13. Coat the bottom of a baking dish with the meat sauce.
14. Top that with cheese.
15. You can add a little bit of cheese on top of the noodle if you want.
16. Repeat these steps ending with the sauce at the top.
17. Spread the Mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce and bake for 20-25 minutes.
18. Let rest for 5 to 10 minutes and enjoy.
